Brian Zollinhofer
Middle & High School Math Tutor and Executive Functioning Coach
Brian is a seasoned educator in his 26th year of teaching and currently serves as a 7th-grade math instructor. With 18 years of private tutoring experience, he specializes in helping students navigate the complexities of mathematics while strengthening the Executive Functioning (EF) skills necessary for long-term success.Brian’s tutoring style is defined by patience and persistence. He believes in a “find a way” philosophy by calmly repeating and pivoting strategies until the student reaches that pivotal “a-ha” moment. His goal is for every student to leave a session not just with completed homework, but with the genuine confidence to participate in class and tackle new challenges independently.
A graduate of Longwood University with a B. S. in Education, Brian’s excellence in the classroom has been recognized with the
Teacher of the Year award at Tuckahoe Middle School and the Andrew Jackson Bolling Faculty Award at St. Christopher’s School. As a soccer and tennis coach, he understands the value of practice and incremental progress. Outside of tutoring, Brian stays busy with photography, coding, reading, and playing board games.
