High School Math Tutor, Executive Functioning Coach
Helene is a dedicated high school Special Education math teacher with 12 years of experience in the classroom here in Hanover County. She is proud to be a Double Duke, having earned both her undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and Master of Arts in Teaching from James Madison University.
Throughout her career, she has been passionate about helping students build both their math skills and their confidence—inside the classroom and beyond. She believes that every student has the ability to learn, grow, and achieve their goals with the right support and encouragement.
She prioritizes teamwork and open communication, creating a positive environment where students feel heard, understood, and empowered to succeed. She is excited for the opportunity to work alongside students and support them on their journey to becoming confident and capable problem-solvers.
When she is not working with students, you can find her spending time with her family—most often chasing after her two energetic toddler boys!
